Needham’s Accessory Dwelling Unit Bylaw

The Town of Needham’s bylaw changes in 2023 no longer require a special permit and the use is no longer restricted to family members and care-givers. An “in-law” or Accessory Dwelling unit is now rentable without restrictions on conditions of who can occupy or rent it. In addition, the law allows an owner to occupy the accessory unit and rent their house. Below find some more specifics, created and compiled by the Needham Housing Coalition, on these changes.
